Our Founder

Bright Minds Future Leaders is a private elementary homeschool that allows students to work at their own pace in a small group atmosphere. Regardless of age or grade level, students will be assessed in reading and math in order to work on their current ability level, whether struggling or above grade level. I feel all students can learn, just in different ways. We need to allow them the opportunity and flexibility to do their best. Our students will be supported by certified teachers with hands-on, small group instruction in a relaxed environment. Fridays will be utilized for life skill learning, including gardening, tending to animals, arts and crafts, STEM activities, financial literacy, etc.

I am Angela Gilmer, the proud owner and director of Bright Minds Future Leaders. I have been involved in public education for the past 30 years as a classroom teacher, substitute, and public school tutor to students in grades PK - 5th. I also began private tutoring when COVID happened in order to help parents and students. I have noticed significant changes throughout my years in education. Unfortunately, the focus has changed and many students are not getting their needs met. I have seen more students struggle than ever before. I feel a change is needed in how students learn, because for a lot of students and parents, the system is not working. I am worried about our children and the future of our country. So I felt it necessary to start Bright Minds Future Leaders to give parents and students an option to public education or home schooling.

My goal is to help students develop into all around students with leadership abilities. I would like to gradually add middle school and possibly high school students in the future. I am extremely excited for this new adventure and opportunity for students in our area.
